Exploring Hampton Roads

So, lately we have been on a kick where we like to take the kids on Fridays and go off exploring all that our region has to offer. It really is a great little area to live in. We went last Friday down to Portsmouth and had lunch outside and then took the ferry over to Waterside, in downtown Norfolk. There is a lot to see and do there. They have a cool "museum like" place there called the Nauticus where they display lot's of Navy stuff and fish. We also went on the USS Wisconsin, an old battleship that you can tour... all for free!! Can't beat that :) We all had a wonderful day. Both of the kids love to be outside (wonder where they get that from??!) So everyone had a great day.

I found this old British phone booth... you know how I think I am British.... anyone care for a spot a tea???
Daddy and Preston in Portsmouth.
Mommy and Preston mimicing the mermaid behind us....
The view from the ferry. We really do have a pretty little city. Life in the HR is starting to grow on us :)
Preston being silly inside Nauticus.
On the ferry again ;)
Lila trying to get the waterfall to chase her... she LOVES to be chased. You should have seen her, it was so funny!!
Lila Anne and Preston hittin' the racks!!!! This is where Ray spent several months sleeping while on deployment... I don't see what all the fuss is about.. the kids seemed to like it??!!
Preston driving the boat.
Daddy showing Preston what life is like on a battleship.
